Program Description

BIOL103 in COST RICA!
Through this BIOL103 Environmental Science course students will explore concepts of sustainability, biodiversity, environmental services and conservation. Costa Rica is the poster country to experience first-hand all of these concepts. It is one of the countries in the world with the highest levels of biological diversity. Due to Costa Rica’s great geographical location and varied climate, it is an ideal home for a large amount of plant and animal life. During the study abroad portion of the course, students will gain first-hand knowledge of how a country can have economic and social growth while protecting the environment. Costa Rica will provide a contextualized learning environment for the students.

This is a general education transfer elective course which fulfills the Natural and Physical Science requirement for many majors at HACC.
