Program Description

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of children? This travel course (with strong service-learning components) will examine how individual, social, political, and economic factors resulted in a child welfare crisis that left tens of thousands of Romanian orphans living in horrific conditions. We will learn from our Romanian hosts and partners, New Horizons Foundation, how service and adventure education can be used to create lasting change in a country with a long history of dictatorship and terror. During more than two weeks in Romania, students will learn skills to bring home to your own towns and neighborhoods - skills that will change your life and the lives of American children.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:
Scholarships up to $1,000 are available through HACC Foundation. Applying for scholarships does not guarantee receipt of funds. If you qualify, financial aid can be applied to the program fee. Contact the Financial Aid office on your campus.
